These economically limited young men and women get up bright and early every day to arrive to school on time and keep pace with a rigorous academic schedule. They want to succeed and look forward to becoming responsible adult citizens. Our students are remarkable in so many ways, for example, they earn 60% of the cost of their education through internships in our Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP). Your support is so encouraging to them!
They need your help! When you give, you are building the minds and changing the lives of our young men and women. Thank you so much!
Why is this program a necessity?
1/3 of Boston students do not finish high school (Boston Youth Transition Task Force 2006). For those who do not graduate, it is much more difficult to be gainfully employed (Civic Enterprises 2006).
North Cambridge Catholic addresses this growing community crisis by providing the youth who are at risk with a challenging curriculum and valuable work experience. Our students learn that by going to college there are many professional career opportunities available to them.
Our graduation rate is over 90%
100% of our graduating students have been accepted into colleges, e.g, Boston College, Bryn Mawr College, College of the Holy Cross, Northeastern University, Pennsylvania State University, Providence College, Regis College, Seton Hall University and Sulfolk University
Students have achieved a 97% attendance rate at their work-study jobs since the beginning of Program.
90% of students have been ranked as "good" or "outstanding" when evaluated by their supervisors, meaning the students have met or exceeded job expectations
We are turning hopes and dreams for the future into reality.
